Would like to know your thoughts on Reincarnate. I bet him in the Arkansas Derby and was a disappointment with no excuses. Obviously, at 50-1 maybe the chance of him winning the Derby isn't very good but really like the post position and was thinking about giving him one more try? Sure would like to know what you think? Can Hit Show run a good race from the #1 post? Those were my two longshots I'm looking at.

2023 Kentucky Derby Beyer Speed Figures Standings

In 11 of the last 13 editions of the Run for the Roses, the winning horse logged a 100+ BSF. Last year, Rich Strike posted a 101 in his historic upset. The lone outright winner to run under a 100 came in 2014 (California Chrome, 97). In 2019, Country House received the win with a 99 BSF. However, that came after the disqualification of Maximum Security.

Most likely, the May 6 winner will run a career-best BSF. But betting on a horse to exceed their previous best by 10+ is a fool’s errand.
Understand many others also really like that number

What is a dose profile?

Dosage: Practical Observations Dr. Steve Roman: The Dosage Profile allows for the calculation of a Dosage Index (DI) and a Center of Distribution (CD), related indices that express the ratio of inherited speed to stamina in a pedigree and can be used for statistical analysis.

What is a dose index?

-A Dosage index is a mathematical figure used to quantify a horse’s ability to handle various distances based on the appearance of influential sires in the bloodline. The Dosage Index (DI) and related Center of Distribution (CD) largely represent the ratio of speed and stamina.

The dosage index is a metric calculated from a horse’s ancestry to quantify the horse’s likely stamina and optimum racing distance. It uses stamina and speed influences from a horse’s bloodlines and produces a dosage index and centre of distribution figure that indicate the likely best trip for a horse.

The higher the dosage index and centre of distribution figures, the shorter the predicted best distance for a horse.
